About

Shauna's Wilde Life

Hello! Welcome to my little corner of the world.

After our cat passed away last fall (2024), it became the first time in over 20 years that we were without pets.

For two decades we lived with mismatched hand-me-down furniture– All well loved and all thoroughly “broken in” by scratching, chewing, urinating, barfing, diaper explosions, and Sharpie scribbles across the walls and furniture.

It was survival mode decor, and it served its purpose.  But once the chaos finally quieted, I realized it was time to give our home the love and attention it never had a chance to receive before.

We also purchased our home at the height of the “gray craze” and at this point…we are (quite literally) grayed out. Gray floors, gray walls, gray cabinets, gray furniture – everywhere.

Trends come and go, and I’ve always been indecisive about home decor, but when I stepped back and really examined the styles I consistently loved, I finally identified a pattern.

I’ve always been drawn to French architecture and design, but it seemed so complicated and out of reach for me.  I love the romantic, feminine, old-world energy of Europe, but especially France.

I love vintage pieces, cozy textures, carved details, natural wood, and a traditional aesthetic with a touch of elegance…but still current and achievable.

Modern design is beautiful, but it just isn’t me.

So I’ve started this journey of transforming our basic builder-grade home into a traditional, French-inspired haven – one DIY project, one refresh, and one thoughtful touch at a time.

Here on my channel and website, you’ll find affordable French-inspired decor ideas, room transformations, small upgrades that make a big impact, Amazon finds, home projects a beginner can actually do, and inspiration to help you create a space that feels warm, elevated, personal, and lived in. A home you love coming to.

My goal isn’t perfection – it’s peaceful and pretty.  A blend of charm, warmth, elegance, and a soul. A space that tells a story while feeling timeless.

If you love cozy elegance, the traditional aesthetic, and turning “builder basic” into something “bougie and beautiful,” you’re in the right place.

I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to share this journey with you!
